Glimpses of Other Worlds

Here's some small ideas that may one day become real AH's. If you have an idea, or have worked on one of the following, send it here and I'll bung it up. If not, I'll do it meself. Eventually.

Balkanised Central America

The Aztecs manage to hold out against the Spanish invaders for a while longer than in OTL. The Spanish eventually take over, but are much less enlightened than OTL's Cortez. Rebellions abound, and eventually the Mexicans gain their independence. However, cultural and religious differences fracture the new country, and Mexico becomes a grouping of Balkanised states with constant border wars and terrorism, up to the modern day.

Greek India

This one could have multiple PoDs:

326 B.C. Alexander manages to convince his troops to continue into India. They penetrate deep into the subcontinent and manage to eventually get to the borders of China. Rebellions are certain, and Alexander may well live to a ripe old age, and name an heir.

305 B.C. The forces of Seleucus Nicator are victorious against the forces of Chandragupta in a desisive battle near Puskalavati. The Mauryans are disheartened, and are eventually conquered by the Seleucids.

Non-Axis Japan

August 24, 1939. Following the signing of the Nazi-Soviet non-aggression pact, Japan leaves the Axis, claiming it a nuge breach in the Anti-Comintern Pact. Mussolini also becomes suspicious of Nazi intentions.

Another Major World Religon

I've been toying with the idea of an AH concerning the rise of a new world religon to rival Christianity, Islam and the others. Possible PoDs:

Pre-Christian Scandinavia
United in Faith, the Vikings spread the Word of God in 'heathen' Christendom.

Mongolia on the eve of Genghis Khan's expansion
The Word of God advances beside the Horde across Asia and Europe.

Early Christian Ireland
The great missionaries preach different teachings

Zorastrian-era Persia
Born a Zorastrian, Died a God...

or whatever...

King Rua Kenana

In 1916 Maori prophet Rua Kenana prophecised that the Germans would win WW1 and he would be made King of New Zealand. What if he was right?
