Sealion

You have 5 exclamation marks on the left of 'RUN' and six on the right.

Thanks for this, it's interesting to see how the UK planned to react in case of invasion.

Has anyone written an indepth and plausable timeline where Sealion is attempted, fails as miserably as is generally considered and how the war continues on afterwards?

The germans had two oppotunities to launch a sealion, with roughly a 30% chance of sucess. After October 1940, it rapidly becomes impossible as britain grows stronger. IN 1941, it was never a realistic possibility.

As I have suggested elsewhere, with a POD in 1936 the Germans could have made reasonable preperations to try, which would have made the odds a lot more even.

Thanks for the Orbat, but claiming that "The BEF had withdrawn safely from France via Dunkirk..." is remarkable. By July the BEF units had very little equipment heavier than a LMG and General Brooke (later Alanbrooke) who got the responsibility for British Home Defence had serious doubts about the capabilities of British Divisional commanders.

I'm afraid the Orbat should be read with the same caution as you read German Orbats from spring 1945.

Hmm, at risk to that the orthodox sector accuse me of heretic:D I support your positions, (I think I remember that thread that you said "as I have suggested elsewhere" if I remember well I think I intervene also in that thread supporting the possibilities (not a lot but some) of a possible succesful Sealion)

" Inquisitioner: you are accused of heresy and name that unholy word, you know referring to some maritime mammal that inhabits in the poles.

Iñaki and Chris: Aah yes! Sealion!

Inquisitioner and crowd in the judgement: Aaargh! Heretics! we need to use the magical words against this word: Royal Navy Royal Air Force Shazam Shalom.

Inquisitioner: Bring the other accuseds, beginning with Len Deighton and Kenneth Macksey, after we have Kim Newman and Eugene Byrne....

Len Deighton: Ey, this kind of things only happens in SS-GB.

Kenneth Macksey: july or september 1940 this is the question.

Iñaki and Chris: hello friends.

Kenneth Macksey: So all we are here because that operation, because that...

Inquisitioner: not mentions the word.

Len Deighton: You refers to Sealion?

Inquisitioner and crowd: Aarrgh, Royal Navy Royal Air Force Shazam Shalom:D "
