The New Order: Legacy of the Weltkriegs

The year is 1959. Europe has been left in ruins from the devastation of the Second and Third Weltkrieg. The Syndicalists have been reduced to the Asian continent, where the struggle for dominance between the Bharatiya Commune and the United States begins in earnest. In 1936, the Kaiserreich stood supreme over the world, having defeated the Entente in the First Weltkrieg. However, the fruits of this victory were not to last, for the impending threat of war plagued Europe, Asia and North America. In the period between 1937 and 1938, Mittelafrika collapsed onto itself, the Second US Civil War began in North America, and the League War ended in the victory of the Left Kuomintang, the Kunming National Governemnt and Chongqing National Governments emerging as opposition. Puyi fell from power, while the Showa Restoration took place in Japan. Austria-Hungary collapsed between 1937 and 1938, and when the dust settled, the Austro-Hungarian Empire was no more. Meanwhile, Russia began its attacks on Germany on May 16, 1940, beginning the Second Weltkrieg. The French Commune was quick to take advantage of the situation, as was the Entente. As the Pacific States of America emerged triumphant in the Second US Civil War in 1941, with President Henry Wallace taking the country to new heights. However, the Second Sino-Japanese War began in 1942, along with the East Seas War, which is now considered part of the Second Weltkrieg's Pacific theatre by most historians in the present-day. However, by 1944, the Kaiserreich was eventually defeated.........just in time for America to join the war.........as an ally of the Entente. It soon became clear that the industrial giant of America was going to be busy fighting in Europe, and so, US troops were sent off to fight in Europe and North Africa. In battles in North Africa, the Italian Peninsula and Western Europe, the American marched on, as US forces helped a second Canadian attempt to secure the British Isles, and restore the United Kingdom, before turning their attention to France. By 1947, the Third Internationale was knocked out of the war with the destruction of Marseille and Lyons signalling the collapse of the Third Internationale's war effort as Entente forces liberated Paris. Two short years later, the Russians pounced on a Japan that had been distracted by war against the Chinese United Front, attempting to secure Sakhalin and the South Kuril Islands. In 1952, the US joined the war in a bid to reclaim the island of Guam, which was successfully carried out. However, the Japanese responded harshly to this move, and as America inched closer and closer to the Japanese mainland, Hiroshima and Nagaski were wiped off the map, ending the Second Weltkrieg in the Pacific. As things progressed, a period of tension emerged between the Moscow Accord and the Entente, which had reorganised themselves under the banner of the Cherbourg Pact (named after the first French city to be liberated from Syndicalist tyranny). The Moscow Accord did not take this kindly, and began to prepare to a fight. It was only a minor border skirmish between German and Prussian forces along the line of contact that set off the final apocalypse.........the Third Weltkrieg. The Moscow Accord quickly used the opportunity to launch an invasion into Central Europe, crossing the Oder River, and pushing back the initial defences. Nuclear strikes were launched all over Eastern Europe by the Americans, nuking the Vistula and the Oder as they retreated to better defensive positions. The Russians responded in kind on Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, Dresden, Copenhagen, Edinbourg, and Paris. America was forced to retaliate in kind. From there, the whole war spiralled into an orchestra of atomic destruction as days turned to weeks, and Moscow, Tsaritsyn, Petrograd, Vladivostok, Seoul, Pusan, Anchorage, Seattle, and many MANY other cities in Europe, Russia, East Asia and parts of the American West Coast were reduced to rubble. By the time the dust settled a few short months later, the Cherbourg Pact had managed to secure control over the former Moscow Accord, while the world began to rebuild from this great nuclear struggle. The remainder of the 1950s would be very, VERY cold years, with global food production going downwards and starvation kicking in and damaging entire economies. America may have "won" a nuclear war against Russia, but it came at great cost. The world is in ruins, and America shall not be around to enjoy the fruits of its victory. The world many people have come to know..........is gone.

Portugal having a good time tho!

Yup. It managed to annex the Congo after Mittelafrika imploded on itself, so it kind of won the Mozambique Bush War, to be honest.

Oh wow I've never seen them pull that, the Fat Man usually eats all their possessions. This is an interesting scenario, Europe must be a hellscape.

It’s literally something straight out of Fallout. The Third Weltkrieg left Europe in nuclear ruins, so there’s that. It’s like what if the USA and USSR started World War III over………………say, the Hungarian 1956 revolution or something. *shrugs*
