Here's a little something that I made over the course of about 8-9 hours (although it was pretty fun to make); an ancestry map of New England. Most of the results are pretty unsurprising, such as lots of Irish-Americans throughout the region, lots of Portuguese in both Bristol Counties, and a significant French/French Canadian population near Quebec. A few things were quite unexpected, though, such as a town in southwestern Vermont with a Russian plurality, and a few hamlets in New Hampshire with an odd ethnic mix (one has four Finns and four Irish, and another with three English, three French Canadians, and three Greeks). If a town is striped, that indicates an actual tie between two groups- even if the numbers were very close, the town was only put with the largest group (if I did that, pretty much all of western Mass and northern New England would be shaded!). The minimap shows the largest ancestry by county for comparison, in that case, the stripes show a close call and didn't necessarily have a numerical tie.

UK: Elizabeth II of England married Hassan II of Morocco in 1953. Elizabeth died 7 years after Hassan. Hassan III was crowned, unifying the nations in 2006.

SAR: The Soviet African Republics started out as the former French colonies in 1956. Revolutions in other nations led to the unification of Africa in 1996.

USE: A huge vote was held in Europe in 2014 on the unification of the EU. Unification won by just a few hundred votes. Led by Matteo Renzi.

Ameristralia: Led by President Trump. The US and Australia decided to unite in 2015.

Sino-Indian People's Republic: India and China, a unified Democratic Socialist nation with over 2.6 billion people. Almost every surrounding nation is under their sphere of influence.

The Land of Thor: Just a bunch of Democratic Socialist Viking villages led by some guy named Gustav or Olaf. The Islamic Republic of Sweden still wants it's independence back.

we must fill in the greyspots with more wank.

A Code Geass map I've map set a little under a hundred years prior to the Britannian invasion of Japan (so, 1911). Made thanks to RoyalPsycho's permission to use his CG 2010 map for Britannian and Euro borders. It's on the eve of the 'Great War' mentioned in the wiki and in a few scenes in the anime. Likely to kick off as a Franco-Russian conflict, with Britannia launching an audacious invasion of Britain to reclaim it. Not sure what Japan will be doing, possibly siding with the Britannians to seize European colonies in Oceania and Asia. Post-war results in a Britannian failure to conquer Britain and the Russians losing between European forces and home-grown revolutionaries. China takes advantage of this and establishes Central Asian puppets.

I think I might have wanked Britannia a bit too much, as they probably should control significantly less of S.America.

Russia was spun off of the ECRS because I think France exerting it's influence into the depths of Siberia and the Bering Strait would be pushing it for the 19th C, and additionally independent Russia would sufficiently distract Paris enough to keep them out of Britannian/New World affairs for that time span as well.

I'm not sure how to explain the origin of Australia since there is little I found of it on the wiki. Maybe Britannian exiles and European immigrants established it?

More explanatory maps for Our Father's Stars. Specifically, more indicators for the spread and penetration of Transhumanist technology and ideas.

The treatment of Augemented Nervous Systems is a good indicator of Transhumanist technology. While not medically nesecary, the technology is key for advanced human-machine and human-synth interface, making them vital for military servicemen, technology specialists, and engineers. The surgical installation for an ANS is incredibly invasive, and impossible to remove completely. In addition, poorly secured ANS devices are at risk of cyberattacks, which can be fatal to the user. Most countries require a licensing system for these apparatuses, and some restrict them only to military and other government personnel.

Germline cell modification is an expensive procedure that allows for the insertion of DNA sequences into a Zygote. The primary use of this technology is therapeutic to allow for the treatment of genetic diseases. However, the technology can be used to implant non-medically nesecary "cosmetic" genes, which can range from modified eye color to increased muscle mass to increased neuron growth. Cosmetic germline modification is controversial due to its perceived affects on social stratification, as well as violating human freedom and dignity, and is heavily regulated if not banned in most countries in the world. As these procedures are expensive, another indicator of note is which countries provide public funds or services toward these treatments.

Hoping somebody can help me plan a map.

This is the rough draft for my map of 200 Earths. Every country is given their own Earth, each one located in the same solar system. In the future, various countries set up their space programs and make contact with the other worlds in the system. The map is supposed to represent all the Earths in the system and mark which Earths are controlled by which countries. In the final product, there would be three colors used per country, one for each country's homeworld, one for each country's directly-controlled Earths, and one for independent Earths that align with or are influenced by said country. Terra Nullius color would be used to represent mostly uninhabited Earths (for example, Nauru or Andorra) My main issue right now is layout.

As you can see, the Earths are very tiny. There are 200 of them, after all; they couldn't fit in a circle otherwise. This layout preserves their in-universe structure; they are all on the same orbit and do not move relative to one another, so they form a ring of Earths around the Sun. However, this also makes it difficult to make out details. If I used this layout, I suppose I could put more detailed maps of some of the more important Earths in the middle. On the other hand, if I arranged them into a grid shape, it would obscure their circular arrangement, but it would be easier to see detail. However, even using a grid layout, the Earths would still be 78 pixels wide (4.5 times larger than these 17-px ones), and it would still be difficult to make out details.

I was wondering if anyone had some ideas or insights into alternate layouts I might use.
