Marxism-Acidism: Putting the Party back in Communist Party

No one parties like the communist party :p

Scottish Communist Flag, Take 2

This flag might also look good with the Hammers and Cog in the top left, in a pseudo-USSR fashion.

I like that a lot, how it evokes the saltire but using communist symbolism. Great job.

It might be better in a lighter shade of blue (the original Scottish saltire was, and recent Scottish nationalists prefer it over the darker shade in the Union Jack) but on the other hand communists might prefer a "harder" combination.

Here's a possible variation on your design:

You know, I rather like the fusion of the saltire with the crossed hammers - I may have to steal that idea at some point!

Flag of the Reunited Netherlands.

A hint for LTTW, perchance, Thande?... ;)

Not on your list but what about china and vietnam ?

That China flag would make for a good Communist Hintu Flag.

The Tudor Rose however has in any case more become a symbol of England (as opposed to the other parts of the UK) than a royal symbol. The background is EdT mixing the St George's Cross of England with the old English Republican banner of green, white and red, which was used by the Chartists and related to the flags used by the Patriotes in the Canadian Rebellions of the 1830s.

Except, that it looks more like the red rose of Lancaster more than the Tudor Rose... :p

The second line has damnation to the banish pits written all over it. If he's not trolling, he sure seems to be.

Back on topic:

Challenge: A flag of a modern Spanish Netherlands.

Here's a version with a Burgundian Cross added if the plain tricolour I posted earlier was too dull:

If it's going to be a "red flag of Socialism", I'd suggest something more like the one below; I'm given to understand that the USSR and China put their designs in the top left in order to keep the look of the plain red flag as much as possible. Though on the other hand, places like Vietnam or Albania did center the designs.

Be my guest. :)

Personnaly I prefer the one with the blue field and logo centered.

Red field flags were actualy more the exception then the norm and in the case of China, it might even be considered a "Modified Chinese Republic's Flag" rather then a defaced red flag.

If you look at most countries during their communist era, they either modified the pre-revolutionary one (yugoslavia, albania, etc...), kept it as is (cuba, czekoslovakia, etc...) or adopted something completely different but not a defaced red field (North Korea, laos, etc...).

All that to say that a blue field flag for a communist country would make perfect sense to me.

Here is an American flag for a dictatorial Communist US in a TL I am planning, updated of course.

Hammer and Pick Small.png

The Hammer for the worker, the torch for the guiding light of the Revolution/the spirit of Eugene V. Debs, martyr of the Revolution, and the pick-axe, representing the workers in the fields and forests (And more humorously, the murder weapon of Larry Trotsky, Russian immigrant to the United States and Revolutionary leader).

Can somebody create a flag for a Commonwealth of New England which is a republic made up of six states and one for the Kingdom of New Netherlands a country on in North America.

Multi-request time!

I'm working on a free RPG setting called Warring Stars, and I was wondering if anybody wanted to make up some flags for the space nations of the setting (thus my earlier Space China flag request). In the Warring Stars era, the settled galaxy is dominated by Zhongguo (Space China) which rules about half the inhabited worlds. The rest are divided as follows:

Tingwok - a Cantonese-speaking separatist state. Maybe something with a yin-yang symbol on it? I don't know what symbols would be appropriate to a Cantonese state, unfortunately.

The Twelve Democracies League - Space Taiwan number 1; an alliance of republican worlds originally settled by Zhongguo. Something inspired by the ROC or KMT flags, perhaps?

The Qianzhou Empire - the other Space Taiwan; a monarchist remnant of the previous dynasty that ruled Zhongguo until two centuries ago. A dragon should be prominent, as this is a very conservative, traditionalist state.

The Folkric - a loose confederation of English-speaking worlds (mainly US and UK colonies). Something with the colors red, white and blue, maybe? (If only the Hawaiian flag didn't exist, it'd be perfect :D)

The Sinha Reaches - another loose confederation, this one of Indian colony worlds. Since Sinha means lion, it might have a lion on it - otherwise, go crazy!

(The Free Worlds - everyone else. No flag needed here.)

Thanks in advance!
