The Church is the state sanctioned religion (and vice versa) of the 3 Empires of Merrygo.
It believes in 2 prior Incarnations of God come down to Earth from the Heavens to judge the Labours of Humanity and to deliver an apocalypse if there is failure. One of the purposes of Humanity is to create an Eden.
It declares an unbroken line down to the last apocalypse that destroyed the Union of Stars though little knowledge has survived bar a veneration for the stars as the Heavenly Abode.
There are 3 Popes who are responsible for the Church within each Empire and they are to act in concert at certain holidays including coronation of the Emperors.
Merrygo is bordered in the north by the Northern Wastes, inhabited by the Kal-Nuk tribes, and in the East by the Waste of Discis, inhabited by the Sun-worshipping Rangers.
The Catholic Orthodox Church Flag
During the fires of the apocalypse the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Churches finally mended the Great Schism forming the Catholic Orthodox Church. While it is the single largest religion on the planet the majority of the apocalypse survivors are not members. The Church spends most of its time trying to convince other Christians that the apocalypse was not the Second Coming, and they are not left behind.
The New Kabbalah (קבלה החדש / القباله الجديد)
In the devastation of World War Z, the Israeli/Palestinian state was one of the very few to avoid collapse. Still, the hopelessness of Apocalyptic Despair Syndrome could not be beaten by guns or fortifications and waves after waves of suicides threatened the fragile stability of the besieged state.
One suprising result was the rise of New Kabbalah, an intriguing fusion of Jewish and Sufi mysticism. This sect claimed that the undead virus was demonic in nature and searched for the secrets of Solomon to control and command that evil. Although denounced as heretical by both Judaism and Islam, the sect was extremely popular. Since it seemed to help to alleviate the ADS within it's membership, the sect was not banned and enjoyed growing popularity all the way until the end of the war and beyond.
The flag of the sect is a combination of Jewish blue and Islamic green, adorned with the symbols of the Seal of Solomon.
The Dark Lord's People's Movement
For years after the second great flood, those evil despots and their petty superstitions of Satan's great power have oppressed us and forced their false god on us. Because we know better of their evil attempts at brainwashing the masses, we (the people) will kill all who stand in our path at making a state dedicated to the dark lord!
For a more factual explanation, global warming goes unchecked and completely melts all large patches of ice and snow on earth, leaving sea levels considerably higher than in OTL. Many, many years have passed (possibly hundreds or thousands) since this catastrophe and societies are considerably more zealous seeing as people have lost faith in their governments and instead have put their trust in religion.
Because of this, the lines have blurred between secular and religious ideologies, making ordinary people and reborn nations left after these floods superstitious of revolutionary movements because they may overthrow any theocracy in place, which are surprisingly common after the apocalypse in this timeline.
Being secular ideologies, the lines between socialism/communism and cults against organized religion (satanism, paganism, etc.) have also been blurred, leaving people that would associate themselves with socialist movements in OTL as satanists and anti-christians.

The Domain of the Saviour
Before the Great Winters, before the Tribulation, back in the Third Age, there once was a faith that united the Land of Usano and even beyond. Or so it was told. In the modern era, the remnants of the Testament, alongside now codified oral tradition is the basis of the Church of the Carpenter Ascendant. The Domain of the Saviour is the area of land directly controlled by the Church itself as a federated kingdom. While centrally ruled by the Consecrated Patriarch (the Papadre) and the Sacrosanct Matriarch (the Mamadre) as equal sovereigns, the 17 Precincts are ruled by Chief Pastors who act with near total impunity. However, all Chief Pastor's are chosen by the community of each precinct based upon piety and devotion to the Church. With the Papadre and Mamadre chosen by a congregation of High Pastors and their Bishops as the reincarnations of the first Humans, Adaman and Evia, their holy rule is thus followed without question by the High Pastors. Of course, the children of previous Papadres and Mamadres are primary candidates, and the House of Borlan has ruled for the past century and a half, with the first born son or daughter being the inheritor of their respective title, their own chosen wife or husband also always just so happening to be the reincarnation of the other First Human.
The beliefs of the Church of the Carpenter Ascendant act as the law of the Domain. One of the key tenets is the idea of the Accumulation of Sin. They believe sin builds up every moment of one's life, that only a Reverend or High Pastor or others of the Church Hierarchy may forgive sin, that supressing sins does not remove them, and that denied sin cannot be forgiven. Thus, the only way to truly move forward in life is to purge monthly. Beneath every church are cellars acting as rooms of pleasure and rage alike, where fetishistic sex and bare-knuckle boxing occur to allow the devout to express their sin and desires in a controlled environment, being forgiven by the leader of their congregation once the night passes. In the Domain, there also exists the Diocese of Transgressions, an entire walled precinct that acts as a place of purge for one week for all who enter. Afterwards, the faithful may allow their sin to build for a full half a year.
The Domain rules the primarily desert regions of the Southwestern portions of the land, believing deserts to be where Angels once descended to Earth to walk among the world before ascending back to the side of Diohovah when the Great Winters were begun by the Wrath of Prometheus.
It is currently the reign of Consecrated Patriarch Judakhan IV and Sacrosanct Matriarch Lydithia XII, by the grace of Hesuchrist the Carpenter Ascendant, in the name of his Father Diohovah and his Mother Marimuerta. Their daughter, Hellesa, First of Her Name, stands to inherit her mother's title, though she has yet to find a spouse or lover, leaving the next Papadre to be chosen from amongst the Pastoral Congregation upon her parents' death.
