  1. WI Jesse Ventura elected President?

It was in pre-1900 last night.
  2. WI Jesse Ventura elected President?

Does Jesse Ventura obtain a time-machine that allows him to go back before 1900 to be elected president?:p If so, then this is ASB. Either way, wrong forum.;) Or has Ian just not gotten around to migrating this thread?
  3. WI 2nd Korean War in 1994

The People's Republic provided more aid in terms of manpower. They entered the war after MacArthur got too close to the Yalu River and drove the UN forces all the way back to where they are now. The PRC would not be nearly as likely to aid the DPRK today. If anything, they'd side with the US, as...
  4. Coup In The USA!

Andrew Jackson, enraged after being censured for his incursion into Spanish Florida, marches on Washington and seizes power. I'm working on a TL based around this now (just started it the night before last). I'll post it in a little while after I get some of this kinks worked out.
  5. 9-11 UN Targetted

Well, President Bush didn't screw up Iraq, but he did, or probably more Rumsfeld than anyone else, screwed up the post-war occupation, not putting enough troops on the ground, and not providing y'all with all the materiel you really need (armored vehicles, body armor, etc.).
  6. AH Challenge: Moonbase 2020

The only thing we really have to do here is prevent the fall and/or bankruptcy of the USSR. After all, the other countries, which all still exist may establish moon bases by 2020 in OTL. A POD for that -- considering that the Soviet system was fundamentally flawed -- might have to go all the way...
  7. AH Challenge: Moonbase 2020

That wouldn't necessarily ensure the survival of the USSR, though.
  8. Bush Senior doesn't scare

IIRC, the next Democratic president was supposed to be Mario Cuomo (in '96). Nobody though that Bush would lose in '92, so none of the big names in the DNC ran.
  9. Bush Senior doesn't scare

It would probably help ensure broader international support as well.
  10. Fortress America

Yeah, I've met a couple of people at school whose parents have it at home and would never, under any circumstances, allow them to bring it up here. I've been looking for a copy ever since my freshman year (junior now). I can't believe I was able to get it for ony $12.50 in good shape.
  11. Make being liberalism acceptable

Or hijack an airplane and crash it into the White House. I now it sounds crazy, but there was actually I guy who tried to do that (they made a movie about him, IIRC.) in 1974. A cop shot him through the glass of the cockpit when the plane was still on the runway, though.
  12. Fortress America

One of, if not the only, AH board game. (I just got it on ebay today for about a third of what it usually goes for and I'm very excited:D :D :D ). From the same series as Axis & Allies by Milton Bradley. Story: (Of a similar strain as Red Dawn -- made in 1984) Every country in the world...
  13. Make being liberalism acceptable

True, but the backlash against the Vietnam war essentially ended the strength of anti-Communists among liberals. This led to the nomination of McGovern and caused a general perception of liberals being weak on national security -- a perception which still exists today. I still think the idea...
  14. Make being liberalism acceptable

POD: Reagan loses the 1980 GOP Convention to Ford. Before then, conservatives were bad and liberals were good, as generally perceived by the American public.
  15. Greatest of Crosstime Villains

Yeah; the Sci-Fi channel ruins practically everything it touches (w/ a few exceptions). There was also that Colonel -- the one introduced in the episode where Arturo was killed (the one who killed him, in fact) -- who sucked out people's brain stems and injected them into his own head because he...
  16. The Great Anglo/American War of 1928

I don't have the book, with me, and it's been a while since I skimmed over the particular entry, but The What-If's of American History has an essay by Andrew Roberts about the Anglo-American War of 1896 over the events in Venezuela. IIRC, there was also a political cartoon of President Cleveland...
  17. North American Map Challenge

Sorry to take so long to respond to this. IIRC, Spain had no holdings in mainland North America after after Mexican independence. And they never controlled Oregon.
  18. Election 2000

We don't need to ban PODs, but there's no need to post a new thread about a POD that's already been explored in another thread.
  19. Election 2000

I don't believe he would have been re-elected. As soon as the re-count started in 2000, I didn't think that the winner of that election would last more than 1 term. September 11th didn't really change that to a great degree by the time the 2004 election rolled around. The concensus of voters...
  20. Alternative CSA President

I've wondered that myself before: why Breckinridge wasn't the Confederate President when most soon-to-be-Confederates voted for him in the 1860 election. The reason for this is that he was from Kentucky. The Confederate President would have to be from one of the first seven states to secede. So...
