  8. Challenge: Roman Empire Anno Domini 1500

The republic expanded as part of the Cursus Honorarium. Meaning that you needed to have military experience to go up the ranks of the republic, and needed the money from conquests to finaince your elections (Of course, the big money was being a provenical governor after being a counsul). The...
  9. For All Time: AH.com circle jerk!

Never read it, going to now. I, for one, never got caught up in plausability for the most part. If the story is good, the plausability doesnt mean as much to me. If the story is bad, or its so implausable (Ie: Nazis in 1941 flying spaceships) then its a problem.
  10. Most morbid AH

A Canticle for Liebowitz is morbid in that humanity suffers the same fate twice and spends most of history burning books.
  11. Turning Point: Fall of Liberty

I rented the game, Ill let you know tommorrow if its worth a shit or not. RIght now, pluasability ideas are not...well...there.

  13. Assault Guns vs. Tanks

Yes and no, but you are mostly right. An assault gun I think of like an ancient catapault, a stronger weapon. A tank, more like calvary, strong and mobile. Both have their places on a battlefield, but a tank wins outright in modern warfare, it is more mobile.
  14. Neo-Roman Empire

Hmmm...a challenge here. Lets say, for lack of research right now. I cannot do one for after 1950, sadly. I can do one close to it though. I am going to use Mussolini a bit here, but not in the way you think. Mussolini takes tighter control of power in 1943 at the Grand Council of...
  15. Does Byzantium = Rome?

Exactly, its a modern term for the most part. I have taught that they are the same empire, with some differences (just like every other nations that evolved)
  16. Does Byzantium = Rome?

This is a debate scholars are still fighting about. One in which I seriously considered writing my dissertation on (for Phd). There is no where a consensus, but a majority argue that it is and Byzantium is merely a modern construction by historians.
  17. Gulf War 1 what if (Iraq)

I most likely would be dead. I was in Saudi 3-days after the Kuwait invasion as the "trip wire"
  18. Resistance: Fall of Man

    Awesome news.
  19. Did WW1 make Americans absolutely richer?

What about the issue of the USA not really getting that much richer (though somewhat) and just Europe getting poorer due to the war. Relatively speaking that is.
  20. Germany defeats England

The Op wasnt askng about sealion per se. I think that britan could have been knocked out if German used thye Luftwaffe effectively (keeping hammering on airfields and radar sites, no city bombing) Of course, knocking out of a war and defeating are two different things.
