Peshwehr Lancers Redux: Latin America

The Army of Neuva Granda moved across the boarder after sweaping their entire border region for insurgent forces and bases. The Air force struck at targets. The tank force included a mixture of American made M-47 and French AMX-30s. The Invasion force overwhelmed the Bolivians who began to fall back under the hamering blows.

Lt General Tomas Fernando had planned for a quick invasion and liberation of Peru. He had been entrusted with a large part of his country's Army and was also receiving considerable air support. He had some of the best trained units, the elite.. He would attempt to limit civilian loses but the safety of his people played an important part on his thinking. The Navy was also given a role. The F-5 Freedom Fighter Bombers struck at targets in Bolivia. The goal was to neutralize the Bolivian Air Force and cripple the air defenses.

The invasion went as planned at least in the beginning. The Bolivians wage an irregular war in Peru but their opponent outnumbered them by at least eight to one. With the use of helicopters and air support the general was able to move his forces quickly to increase odds to twenty to one. Several of the Neuva Granda Air Force fighter bombers were shot down and the General called upon the air Force for additional air support.. The Air Force used its three EB-57 aircraft to mess with the Bolivians radar and then struck with the country's entire Bomber force of 12 B-57 Medium Jet bombers. Hawaii did provide the country with intelligence, which helped to prevent further air loses.

The Neuva Granda Air Force was conducting a massive air offensive against Bolivia. With the help of intelligence provided by Hawaii the Air Force had finally knocked out most of the missile air defense system and radar Facilities. The B-57s had bounded the air bases. The Navy had shelled the Bolivian Seaport and had stage commando raids.. The General was assured by the Navy that no replacement weapons would be getting into Bolivia. In less than two months he had liberated Peru and was prepared to finish the job by invading Bolivia. It had been agreed that elections would be held in Peru and be overseen by Brazil, Chile, Spain and the Central American Republic.

Lt General Tomas Fernando was pleased that the campaign had gone so well. He was prepared to cross the border into Bolivia and finish off the enemy's military capacity to wage war. But the Political leadership in Bogota was worried that if their country's army was to move fully into Bolivia it might cause problems with other nations. In fact they were pretty close to the truth. Argentina had gotten nervous when Neuva Granda's Air Force struck deep into Bolivia. The result was they supplied the Bolivians with Antiaircraft guns, older tanks and manufactured small arms ammo for the Chinese made rifles and machine guns.

I have a correction to suggest to the map. Where it reads Neuva Granda, it should be Nueva Granada.

Keep up the good work, Chris! :)
