Brotherhood of Mutants
Magneto
Magneto, a mutant with the ability to control magnetic fields, whose experience in the Auschwitz concentration camp shapes his outlook on the situation that mutants face in the world. Determined to keep such atrocities from ever being committed against mutant-kind, he is willing to use deadly force to protect mutants.
While the Brotherhood promoted the group's existence as a political and ideological rival to Professor Charles Xavier's dream of peace with humans, the group was originally conceived as simply a small, but powerful army of minions gathered by Magneto to aid in his schemes for "liberating" mutantkind.
Cyclops
Scott Summers was happy to leave the orphanage in Omaha, Nebraska, which had been his home since his parents died. Much to the young man's shock his adoptive father Malcom Reed was an extremely abusive man, and his new mother Georgia only took in the young Scott to keep Malcom "distracted" from her daughter Julian.
At the age of thirteen Scott fought his father off, and recieved a very harsh beating in return. Suddenly a powerful beam shot out from Scott's eyes vaporizing Malcom, and sending the young man down the stairs landing on his head. This causes brain damage to Scott, which is supposedly responsible for his inability to control his optic blasts, as well as prolonged amnesia about his childhood which in itself is a blessing.
Scott unable to control his powers, is sent to a government prision where they hope he will become a weapon. The young man is subjected to daily tests, some painful, most humiliating. One day taking no more Scott slowly takes apart the visor locked to his head. It take two months, but once the visor is gone Scott wastes no time in breaking out, and blasting away the military who follows.
Of course the young man did not think to take the visor with him. So in the woods he could do nothing but cause destruction wherever he went, that is until Magneto arrived presenting Scott with ruby quartz googles. A long lasting partnership began that day. Magneto having found his foot soldier, and Scott a man to look up to wanting nothing more then his services.
Marvel Girl
Jean Grey-Summers was born the daughter of Dr. John Grey and Elaine Grey. Before joining the Brotherhood, she lived with her family in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, where Dr. Grey worked as a history professor at Bard College.
Jean's powers first manifest at the age of ten, prematurely triggered when her best friend, Annie Richards, is hit by a car. As her friend lies dying, Jean instinctively links to her mind and senses what Annie feels when she dies; the trauma of experiencing her friend's death nearly kills Jean as well, but instead leaves her in a coma.
Jean's parents seek the expertise of specialists to rouse her out of her catatonic state, of which only Professor Charles Xavier is able to help. Xavier realizes that Jean's young mind cannot yet cope with her abilities, so he telepathically blocks her access to them, allowing her powers to evolve at a more natural pace. Xavier tells her parents that he wants to work with Jean to help develop her powers.
Jean's parents are less then accepting of such a thing, having already lost years with their daughter due to a coma, and now seeking out any way to strip the girl of her powers so she can live a normal life. Xavier protested, but quickly found him cut out of the young girls life. As Jean sat in the basement of her house, getting company only from her father who gave the girl food, and books, she quietly grew to hate her parents. She also grew to hate Professor Xavier due to the block she had on her powers, knowing she had the power to level walls and escape but only able to move objects around the room.
After four years of such treatment, Jean Grey was set free as the roof of her house was ripped off. She huddled in the corner listening to her father and mother scream for help, but once she saw the kindly man with white hair hold his hand out to her Jean knew she was free. Magneto had a new member to his growing group of mutants.
Iceman
Iceman was born in Floral Park, New York, United States to William Robert Drake and Madeline Beatrice Bass Drake. He is Jewish on his mother's side and Irish Catholic on his father's. His Powers first manifested when Bobby was on a date with Judy Harmon, and a local bully by the name of Rocky Beasely tried to take Judy away for himself. Knowing Judy could not put up a good fight, Bobby pointed his hand at Beasely and encased him in a block of ice. Later, the local townspeople, having heard about what Bobby did, came looking for him in the shape of an angry mob. The local sheriff had no choice but to put Bobby in jail for his own "protection." While sitting in his cell at the sheriff station, the outer wall was blown open, and a man named Scott Summers walked in and offered to take Bobby with him. After turning him down, the two mutants got into a short battle, which Magneto soon ended.
Mastermind
Jason Wyngarde, a mutant with the power to generate psionic illusions that can affect any of the five senses of his opponents. How and why he joined Magneto is unknown, however the mutant can never be far away as his powers while never winning a battle, always seem to tip the balance.
