Autarky is the idea that a country should be self-sufficient and not take part in international trade. So Autarkic Communism puts an extreme emphasis on "completely self-reliant communities." In OTL very few countries have attempted Autarky, besides maybe Fascist Italy and Communist North Korea.

The question is how can a country that big manage to stay self relient and self suffient. They'd be putting a hell of a lot of things into making the things that they could very easily trade for. Meaning they'd have less manpower to do other things. Small countries i can understand, but a large modernish country...that takes a lot of things.

so in a sense they'll be alright at everything, but good at nothing. no specializing.

Central Powers victory in WWII, though not enough of one to stop the USSR from reclaiming Finland (in OTL, the Finns and some German troops allied to them slapped down a Bolshevik invasion during the Civil War). Perhaps Germany forces a union of Austria AND its Slavic provinces in the aftermath.
