WI Mark Antony and Lepidus are killed along with Caesar in 44 BC?
Caesar was assassinated on March 15, 44 BC. One of the ringleaders of the conspiracy, Cassius Longinus, had argued for the killing of Lepidus and Mark Antony as well, but Marcus Junius Brutus had overruled him, saying the action was an execution not a political coup...
WI Cassius Longinus had succeeded in persuading Brutus that killing Mark Antony and Lepidus was essential and both were eliminated with Julius Caesar? How is that altering History? Any thoughts?

Octavian takes full control of the "Ceasar" party straight from the beginning

Octavian was merely 18 yo by that time and far from Rome... He was in Apollonia starting his military training... If Mark Antony and Lepidus were dead he would be a "sitting duck" target for Brutus and Cassius to eliminate him... He has to run fast and find a strong ally soon if he wants to claim Caesar's inheritance...

Quote:
If Brutus has allowed Cassius to elimanate the other though, i can see them making a clean sweep and doing in the majority of Ceasar supporters.

Well Republic was virtually dead by that time... if it wasnt Octavian it would be someone else with imperial ambitions... Julius Caesar showed the Romans how it is done... How to grasp supreme power...
