Did Charles already had successor? If so, he didn't have to sleep with Joan. They are married, but she swore celibacy, or something. I think it was possible in medieval Europe.
Personally I don't see any reason for French king to marry someone of low status (wasn't she peasant girl?). Joan served well as symbol of Fighting France  and as pure messenger of God. The marriage might have spoiled her image. But hey, everything is possible. I read a book in which she almost become queen of Poland.

Charles VII wouldn't have married Joan of Arc because they were siblings. Everyone knows she actually was the illegitimate daughter of Louis of Orléans and Isabeau of Bavaria:
