SP2 trouble

Does anybody else have this problem? Does anyone know what to DO? I recently installed SP2 for my Windows XP. Ever since, while I am typing in one of these boxes or whatever they are called, the blue margin of the webpage goes a lighter blue, the bar indicating where I am typing disappears, the keyboard stops tying and I have to click the cursor to resume typing. Since I am not a good typist, I tend to look at the keyboard instead of the screen, so I can "type" half a sentence without typing it, which is quite aggravating. This happens every minute to several minutes unpredictably. It is also happening to my best friend, who is a lot better with computers than I am. Please help.
