Well the plans where created in the 20's, and I think on the surface they make sense. For DS #1 it all hinges upon knowing about the invasion prior to the attack. As Canada had conscription, and America did not, one could rather quickly notice any increase in the American military.
The American plan would work on sheer numbers, and industry alone, but I do not think it would be a quick move. Calling up the reserves is a serious under taking for a nation, and is next to impossible to keep hidden. My money is on America in the long run, but I see bodies piling up if one has to march into Canada in the winter.

An invasion of Canada by the US was possible but not the reverse. The population and economic advantages are just too great for Canada to overcome.

Defense Scheme No. 1 was not a plan to invade the US, it the a plan to move forward and fight on US soil in a defensive retreat until the UK arrived in force. So one cannot say Canada ever really planned to invade America in a traditional sense.

I doubt Canada could have taken Seattle,WA and Minneapollis,Minn and Albany,NY they are just too big. By the time they would have taken them reinforcements would have arrived.

Okay but lets say they get into only half of those. It is still a bonus in time for Canada, for I cannot think of any American congressmen standing for enemy troops on their soil.
