1632
Just finished this, I think it was pretty good. I'm going to get the sequel and read it after a few more books (I've read 2 similar ones on the trot with this and Conquistador)
So its pretty old, why hasn't it been as well recepted as Island in a sea of time? The ASB forum is full of people going on about ISOTing but there is never any 1632ing. It has some bad points about it but then they are to be expected from the cover-its so overly American and 'republicanism r0xorz' it was iffy and then he attempts a sex chapter which I do not like at all (it stops you telling other people how great the book is). |

ISOT came first. We had stories about individuals in some other time, but ISOT was the first with a group, as far as I know. We used to call them Connecticutt Yankee stories after Twain's book.

I liked this book and its sequels, though I don't think it's quite up to the standards of sterling's books.

1632 is what first brought me into AH in the first place, so it did that much. I very much liked, bu 1634: The Galileo Affair was a little borning for me.
