'Feed the World' by force of arms- humanitarian intervention against Ethiopia 1984/85

Is there any way that in 1984/85, instead of the Live Aid/Band Aid music campaign, the international community reacted to the images of Ethiopian children starving by launching a humanitarian intervention, a la Op RESTORE HOPE in 1992/93, to oust the Mengistu Marxist regime and facilitate the distribution of humanitarian aid ?
