How would South Africa have looked during the post-apartheid period and elections had large-scale open warfare actually broken out between the ANC against white supremacists such as the AWB and rival black political movements like INKATHA or the PAC ? Could the entire southern portion of Africa have gone up in flames literally, so that the international community was required to intervene in force ?
