Cool Harry Harrison-A Transatlantic Tunnel Hurrah

What do you think of THIS Book? Is the IDEA possible? I love ONE scene where the hero-Gus Washington(!) meet a detective by the name of Richard Tracy-with the yellow raincoat or McIntosh. Be proper. I know he's not liked.

It is possible. I saw a program of how one would be built on Discovery or Discovery:Civilization.

I liked the pastiche of 19th century fiction and the introduction of various writers from our world.

I loved this book. It was totally unrealistic and the engineering was a crock but it was a great story. I loved the navvies jumping vent shafts, they really used to do that sort of thing.
