WI: Hilton dies in WWI

Conrad Hilton Sr., the founder of the Hilton Hotels chain, served in WWI for two years. So what happens if he had died in WWI at the age of 30?

Hilton Hotels only really became a thing by the 40s and 50s, when he made his really big accomplishments (symbolized frex by his buying the Waldorf-Astoria). Butterflies would really be let loose then, other than that, I think change would be minimal.

The genealogical chain that, in our OTL, led three generations later to his great-granddaughter Paris gets nipped in the bud.

Without Paris Hilton, in this ATL both reality television and the idea of 'leaking' a sex tape to boost your popularity never takes off.

One hundred years later post POD, the candle light of culture in this ATL burns a little brighter.

Paris Hilton was a carefully engineered phenomenon in much the same vein as Lady Gaga, the Tea Party or a presidential campaign. The specific individuals involved aren't nearly as important as the economic interests that manufactured their image. Reality television will still happen without Paris and I doubt that our culture would be any less lowbrow.
