Sounds like da Europe 2008 map that I did a few months back. Don't you mean you want an 1854 Europe map?

Does anyone have a World Map during 1274 that I can edit in MS Paint? I need one for a map.

The HRE extended to Prussia in 1200. It also had Silesia.

Not according to most maps that show Europe in 1200, and yes that includes the AD1200 Europe map in Euroatlas, which I have based much of my map from.

You also must take into account that Euratlas shows de facto independent HRE territories as independent. |

Too Bad I can't use the 1200 Map for my Mongol Empire World Map. I was going to edit more than one nation.

I realize that, and if you look at the map closer, you will have seen that I have included the HRE color in outline in the 'independent' HRE territories, but I still stand by what I say, the HRE didn't extend to Silesia, Pomerania, and Prussia. Denmark was actually in the progress of conquering the Baltic coasts of present day Germany and Poland, and actually captured Lubeck in 1202, thus cutting off the HRE's access to the Baltic. My map shows the situation before Lubeck was captured by Denmark. However in the mid 1200s, the HRE managed to push the Danes out of the region as German settlement moved eastward across the region, and towards the Baltics. As for Silesia, it became a vassal to the HRE, in 1163, but not part of the HRE until the late 1200s. Pomerania was a German fief in 1181, and became part of the HRE in the early 1200s, after the time of my map. BTW, your modification still looks kewl, kind of an earlier and more agressive HRE eastward expansion scenario.

It is areas that arr not/sparsely populated, and have not advanced into a true nation yet; peoples in those areas tend to be primtive nomads or tribes and the like.

You're probably right, considering a large amount of my huistorical knowledge comes solely from maps (a very bad way to learn history). |

Silesia according to my historical atlases was always shown as lying outside the HRE border until about the late 1200s or so (need to research this more to be sure). Maps have a way of oversimplifying the actual on the ground reality, just by their design no matter how complex you want the map to be, and what you are trying to illustrate w/ the map.

Here's the map w/ Silesia outlined in HRE light grey, but outside the HRE, as a fief, but not part of the HRE, yet.
