I made this map,to show the future. It's as realistic as possible,so it's not fully colored. White means the country stays the same.


Venezuela becomes a "socialist" government. Its thought that barely more than half the country supports Hugo Chavez. Russia secretly arms the nation,as well as supports it. Colombia is destabilized by drug wars,Chavez takes over Colombia,later Venezuela annexes and Suriname and French Guiana out of threats from Brazil rallying to Colombia's defense. The USA,France and Brazil send in forces to retake Suriname and French Guyana. The nations are occupied,ironically the set up is how it was when Britain and France controlled the regions.

Global Warming is barely stopped,Greenland's ice sheets melt..revealing prosperous land. Denmark asserts authority,the local Greenlanders declare independence. A Greenlandic-Danish war begins,the USA is forced to defend Greenland..the map shows a divided Greenland. Realization is that Greenland is not fully capable of self rule,some begin to wonder about joining the USA.

China's Communist government collapses,protests occur and people are killed. In the end the ROC once again take over the mainland,China is a democracy. Meanwhile,China begins to eye it's former land that Russia took in 1868..talks begin about returning the land. New Guinea and Indonesia have talks to make the island politically whole,due to the poor Guinea economy..the whole island joins Indonesia.

Pakistan becomes a failed state,terrorists begin to sweep into India. With help from the United Nations,Britain and America..India reluctantly absorbs Pakistan into itself. Due to the economy,Bangladesh does as well..due to the sudden reunification of India..the economy collapses.

But the Indians have a swelling of national pride,Sri Lanka is still its own country and has no plans to join with India. Even on top of all that,Afganistan is another failed state..due to the USA's failed "War On Terror" with the USA gone..India is basically forced to pick up the pieces. The Indian government is currently arguing weather or not to take the region.

Ireland asserts control of the Northern lands,a second Irish Civil War begins..Britain sends in forces..blood is spilled. A treaty is signed,the whole nation is now Irish..but only on the condition that British police are in the nation to keep the peace and the Northerners are not prosecuted in any way.

North Korea's Kim Jong-il dies..leaving his family and the government arguing over who is the successor. North Korea implodes,and attacks the South in a last ditch move. American and Japanese forces battle the DPRK forces..China refuses to help..saying that it has it's own problems to deal with basically. Russia secretly equips the North with weapons,the North falls..reunification occurs..the economy is nearly toppled.due to the sudden merge. Ala East and West Germany.

Quebec holds a referendum..independence occurs..barely. The whole of Canada is divided upon such a move,as the Commonwealth of Nation is also divided. The USA supports Quebec independence..but urges a peaceful existence between Canadians and "Quebecois"...as they are now called. Canadians are outraged,and insulted that such a thing could happen within their own country. The EU and the USA predict that a conflict may occur.

Islamic radicals take over the Philippines in a coup,the USA and Australia send in forces to topple the fundamentalists. The USA is forced to take control of the islands again,while some small groups argue for statehood...and the notion that the nation has not fully worked since the USA left. At the moment,the USA has no plans to make the Philippines a state.

With China seeking control of Manchuria again,Japan is in talks with Russia to buy the Sakhalin Island. With help from the USA,a sort of agreement is made..again the situation ends up how it was before World War 2..even though talks are still under way to give the whole island to Japan. The Kuril islands as well..

Actually, Russia acquired the Amur region from China in 1858 under the Treaty of Aigun, and acquired the Ussuri region from China in 1860 under the Treaty of Beijing.

Actually, Andorra did disappear in 1812 when Napoleon annexed Catalonia into the French Empire, but was restored about a year or so later when Catalonia was returned to Spain. Also there was a strip of French territory placed between Mecklenburg, and Westphalia along the Elbe river, but disconnected from the rest of the French Empire, and not reaching all the way to rump Prussia, so that both Mecklenburg, and Westphalia border each other twice.

OK, people, I know some of you out there wanted to know the names of the more obscure polities on the 1400 world map, so here's a labelled version showing the Old World. Some of the countries are numbered and listed on the map.

And here's the map key for the polities in and around the HRE. I have removed Alsace from the key and the map, because it is a fictional version, and it was requested by 09camaro to be shown originally. So to preserve the accuracy of the map, I removed it.

I'm actually going to put this here as well since it's 99.999% an OTL map and this thread gets more traffic.

This is a map I have been working on of 1806 South Asia. The base map is Qazaq's 1803 BAM (btw: awesome work Qazaq, works can't describe the greatness of your maps. Half of me wants to rat your work out to the A&M history department so they can consider backing up a dump truck full of money to your door and another half of me wants to greedily keep you all to ourselves on AH.com) with modifications to make up for the 3 years and add some levels of detail where warranted.

Here are the notes I have from my additions so far.

• I have divided the British territories into client states, claims (the pink outline around the Maratha lands due to the puppet Peshwa's claims due to the 2nd Anglo-Maratha War), and other direct company lands. These lands being Bengal, Ceded and Conquered Provinces, Berar, Bombay, Surat, Orissa, Circars, Madras, and Malabar. Client states include the lands of the Maratha Peshwa, Mysore, Travancore, Oudh, the Nizam of Hyderabad, and a few minor ones whose name escapes me right now.
• Other colonial powers are the Dutch in Ceylon (not British, but this is for Ameriwank), Danish, and Portuguese where they should be, and Americans where the French facotires should be (again, Ameriwank)
• I tried to subdivide the Maratha Confederacy to show important families such as Scindia, Holkhar, and a few others but it became a mess so I scrapped it.
• I believe the northwestern frontier is a bit of a mess, but information on that region is hard to find and maps are even scarcer. The Sikh Confederacy (about to be Empire) is right below Peshawar and the Durrani Afghans. Sindh and the Rajputs are roughly where they should be but I think there is room for a ton of improvement there.
• Baluchistan has been roughly divided into some princely states large enough to warrant their own borders: Kalat, Kharan, Las Bela, and Makran. The western most blank Baluchistan state (bordering Persia) is a remant from the basemap and I'm unsure to whom that land belongs.
• The Gorkha's Empire is in exsistence stretching roughly from Garwhal to Sikkim as it should at this time. The reason its a Chinese vassal is because it was just defeated some years previously and was being forced to pay tribute to China. I'm still not certain about this whole mess though.
• Finally Burma is something I am unsure of. My sources tell me they controlled Arakan, Assam, and Maipur at this time just before their 1st war with the Brits but I couldn't find a good map. Any suggestions.

Any suggestions, input of knowlege, criticism, etc, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Also nice work by Tex. I couldn't find any information on the states just each of Baluchistan either when I was researching this, so I just had the Durranis and Kalat go expansionist and conquer them all to simplify my maps in Look to the West

that is great, good job. willl you be making a 1914 one?
