Do you happen to have one in that style that covers the whole world in 1914?

EDIT: punctuation is our friend.

Nah, it would be easier and less time consuming to just create a vector map out of a existing World Map.

take old map of world in 1914, use Gimp or Photoshop and create a new layer, use vector tools to make outline of continents, nations, rivers, mountains, what you desire in the map, PROFIT!

go ahead, I pretty much free handed the map w/ German Empire. For the map with Weimer Germany, it is a bit more accurate, I sized a map of the nation in Mercator projection to the scale I needed and traced the lines appropriately.

Kewl, man. The free handed rendition of the German Empire is not bad, its just that eastern Prussia just sticks out a little too far into the Russian Empire, but I will fix that, and repost the map.

If I can make a suggestion, another good addition to that DarkSlavik map would be adding dots for major cities, e.g. capitals (not the full names, just the dots). I find that's very useful when working out war fronts and borders rather than trying to juggle it based on rivers and prewar borders - we don't all have Qazaq's leet Rain Man type map skillzors

@Chris S,
Great map, so far.
@DarkSlavik,
Here's the fixed version of your 1914 Europe map. I have fixed up the borders for the German Empire, and Austria-Hungary, as well as a few minor fixes elsewhere.

A map that I spent altogether too much time and effort on.

Nearly every major fort, post, mission, etc. in the Pacific Northwest during the pre-Civil War period. The dates are (generally) of the first usage of the facility.

It was very fun, and I hope someone has some use for it, be it for a budding timeline, a history commentary, or for general knowledge- so long as I did not work in vain, I feel grand.

(I actually haven't changed this map in several months; I merely haven't bothered to post it.)
