I'm sure that this has been discussed before but for converstions sake indulge me hear. Lets say that John brown and his men succesfully raid Harper's Ferry and abscond with as many of its rifle supply that they can. Now how far could they likely go with there mission to create a nation wide slave revolt? I have serious doubts that they could succesfully bring all of the slave states into rebellion but maybe they could have some success around Appalachia. Ideas?
