Aden as a "Singapore"

So, I was wondering if there are any plausible ways we can make Aden into a middle eastern "Singapore": wealthy, a top-ten financial center, a seriously busy port, and maybe even have it importing non Muslims (like Christian Egyptians) to keep it from becoming Muslim enough to be annexed into Yemen.

Maybe if East Africa is stabler that would help. African Lions instead of Asian Tigers.

Hmm, maybe. But then what would be the POD? It's slightly hard to make East Africa stable, with all the different ethnicities, religions, and sources of influence there.

I don't think different ethnicities and religions is the problem, Somalia is mostly all Muslim Somalis, yet is the most unstable of the bunch.

I would guess that Kenya and Tazania might be the best bets. Mozambique has the Portuguese probably refusing to stay, and South Africa is a bit tricky. Don't count myself as an expert on Africa though.
