United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland?

How do we make the UK a Dual Monarchy?, POD after 1860 preferred but not necessary.

Also, would such a move open the possibility of the Kingdoms of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, etc.?

How to make the UK a dual monarchy after 1860? Have the third Home Rule Bill be passed before WWI breaks out, a parliament established in Dublin with the King of England also being the King of Ireland rather then being the King of the UK. Its not that unlikely.

WWI screwed up this possibility.

So basically you just want to either avoid or repeal the Act of Union 1800 that moved Ireland from being the Kingdom of Ireland in personal union with the British Crown into full union with the Kingdom of Great Britain to become the Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland right? Irish history has never really been my forté but seems like the best chance you have is to get some kind of Irish autonomy sorted with a Kingdom of Ireland, minus Northern Ireland, being formed and it moving back into a personal union.

Actually an austro-hungary styled dual monarchy was very possible post 1860 as most Irish Nationalists where not seperatists at the time and Irish Republicanism was a minority. It was also the best point in which to have a dual monarchy post or pre act of union 1800 without, you know, it being phyrric like it was pre act of union since post 1860 Ireland has a proactive middle class and expanding educated class.

How would the UK look if it were completely united still to this day, with a United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland? Would there be much difference? Language differences, political differences, etc.? How would this UK have played out the 20th century and 21st?
