Confederate gray.

Gray is a modern color for military Uniforms.
Many Armies in XX century have worn the gray in several shades (Portugal and Chile, for exemple).
Is possible that the color of the Confederate Army Uniforms,in a timeline in which CSA survive remains gray?

why not ?

Germany has used grey in several shades uniforms since 1907...
i think that "today" CSA would adapt the grey to "Feldgrau" a grey green shade for the field uniforms
while using grey for Evening Dress uniforms like "Officer Grey Dress Uniform"

The CSA probably adopts butternut/khaki as it had more CS troops serving in khaki from unavailability of grey die than it did in grey. Grey probably becomes the CS dress uniform color, the field uniform becomes khaki.

Most CSA uniforms were dyed Grey but turned butternut due to the poor quality dye after a while

If the CSA had survived until the present day, its soldiers would probably be wearing some sort of camo by now. But its urban camo could include shades of gray.

Sounds about right. Gray or Butternut could survive in dress uniforms though. Like blue in the US military or red in Britain.

Makes perfect sense, lovely picture by the way, where did you find it or did you alter it yourself? If so superb work.
