WI: Rolling Stones split, Beatles stay together?

Although this scenario is not the likely one, and the OTL is, what if it had been the Rolling Stones that broke up around 1970, while the Beatles went the route of staying together till oblivion like the Rolling Stones of the OTL have?

The usual answer to this is that the various Beatles would simply adapt their OTL solo careers to these new circumstances. I think there would definitely be some of that, but the Beatles were always greater than the sum of their parts. I don't think we can even guess what their musical output would be like or if they would be trendsetters after their 60's heyday.

The Stones were a great singles band in the 60's, but their best albums didn't come together until the 70's. That's how they would have been viewed had they split in 70-71, a British Invasion band that couldn't keep up with the times and the competition.
