Confederate States TL-191 Retrospective Presidential Election, 1873

In 1873, the Confederate States of America is continuing developing reputation and recognition, as her newfound independence is wearing off
Will you vote for a war hero, P. G. T. Beauregard, a powerful General and a proud slave owner or…
Will you vote for a semi-libertarian states rightist called Zebulon Vance.
Here's a link to the 1933 election.
OOC:
I plan to run the elections in the Confederate States from 1915 to 1933, and 1867-1915, two per week. I will stay at approx. the same time as the US Retrospective and TL-191 elections. Make sure you vote in each one!

Shouldn't there a third option? One labeled "Kill me now."?

...Vance, to weaken the CSA.

Beauregard was actually a pretty decent guy after the war OTL.

The only good thing Ill say about Vance is he was shockingly pro-jewish for the 1800s. Of course it was mostly rooted in his deep christian faith, he did a speech circuit in the 1870s talking about how God would bless America if we took in all the oppressed Jews of Europe, and presearve "His" people.

I wonder if he were POTCS, if he would use his power to open up jewish immigration to the Confederacy.

Robert B. Vance is Zebulon's brother. Both are some of my Confederate ancestors...

It is an honor to vote for him...
