Disunity?

WI: The following states never merge with others: Castile and Aragon, Scotland and England, and Bavaria with the rest of Germany? Political, social, economic implications?

Castile - Aragon.
Aragon would decline because the the decline of Mediterranean trade, as did Naples. Probably that if not taken by Castile, it would be by France. Castillan-French war follows.

Scotland-England
Sooner or later, Scotland would be vassalized/protected by England. Too much isolated to handle it.

Bavaria-Germany
Bavaria would turn in a giant Switzerland, with more cows and less banks. Likely to turn as Prussia/German-friendly rather than Austria.
