DBWI AHC: Bring the Nazi party to power in Germany

Anyone here familiar with the history of the Nazi (National Socialist) party in Germany? Those lunatics who, one day in 1923, got drunk and decided they were going to overthrow the German government, and got their entire top leadership arrested and executed by the Weimar government, bringing the party (pun intended) to an end?

Here's an AHC for you. Mods, I know this one borders on ASB, but I don't think it's quite there, so I'd appreciate a touch of latitude here.

Bring the Nazi party to power in Germany, controlling the Presidency, the Chancellorship, and a majority in the Reichstag. Bonus points if you bring that artist...what was his name...oh yes, sorry. Bonus points if you have Adolf Hitler as either President or Chancellor. Have at it, folks!

Maybe if the Putsch goes better you could have a national socialist bavaria?

"Borders on ASB"? This lives in the capital city, deep in the heart of that preposterous land.

The chain of events required to deliver the NSDAP (Sp?) to respectability, much less power, is so unlikely you would probably need to deplete the entire global reserves of Handwavium to achieve it.

Hitler was an hysterical demagogue, nothing more, nothing less. He was merely a front for the actual leadership.
The real brains in the Nazis Party, if that's not an oxymoron, were people like Drexler and Rohm.

If you must have an Alt-Germany why not go for something a little more plausible?
There was a good chance in the 1920s and 30s that the Republic could have withstood the Communist insurgency.

A little bit of luck (or perhaps even Western support) would have seen Weimar establish itself.
Maybe hold off the Communist Revolution long enough for the Polish Invasion to stimulate German cohesion in response?

Absent a German Communist plea for help the Russians might have stayed out ot it.
The Red Army would not have been eviscerated.
Russias neighbours would not have given in to the temptation to kick her when she was down.
In turn those countries would not have been smashed when the Russians (finally) got their act together.

Perhaps we could then have avoided the decades of bad blood that have kept Eastern Europe as an armed camp.

If that is your aim, it is a laudable one. I cannot see how Rohm and his cronies can get you there, though.

That raving loon? What have the Germans ever done to you? I can't see the party ruling a city not talking about Germany! A bunch of strutting fools that make Benito Mussolini look like Abe Lincoln. The Germans aren't all stark, raving mad. The only way I can see this happening is if they get some money from the upper class to fight off the Communists and even that is a stretch.
