Fear, Loathing, and Gumbo -- Election '72 Poll

Figured it was high-time for this... shall we avoid the electoral catastrophe that results in this TL, or shall we create an even worse muddle?

"We", of course, because I can't do it alone; "Won't you please he'p me?"

Your candidates:

Richard M. Nixon/Spiro Agnew (Republican)
John J. McKeithen/Birch E. Bayh II (Democratic)
George A. Wallace/Lester G. Maddox (Independent)
George S. McGovern/Paul N. McCloskey (Peace)
John Hospers/Theodora Nathan (Libertarian)

McKeithen is a crook with ties to the Mob, McGovern is a hypocritical fool, and an egotist, Wallace is horrific. Nixon, Nixon, Nixon! Four More Years!

George McGovern was not only the most decent man to run for President but a real war hero who understood how terrible war really is. We be dam lucky if he was President in 72 or any other year in the last 40 years.

(By the way, sorry you can't see who voted; it's the first poll I've set up, so I thought that tab would show everyone automatically who voted. Whoops. )

I pick Nixon because we know what to expect from him as President.

Maybe some two people who liked Wallace's actually-quite-sensible administration later ITTL?

Hey, it's a hundred plus pages with a lot on each; forgive me if I'm only on page 10, right now...
