Also, Turquoise Blue, would you mind if I went ahead and did CSA retrospective presidential election, using TL:191-Filling in the Gaps?
Maybe we could work together a little bit.

These are alternate TL-191 elections, so we can expect a slightly different spread than what we can only guess would appear in the canon TL-191.

OK. When we do the 1868 and 1944 elections, those are the choices. I need help with the blanks and the ones in question marks.

1868
Horatio Seymour/Thomas F. Bayard? (Democratic)
William Seward/????? (Republican)

1944
Charles W. La Follette/Jim Curley (Socialist)
Thomas E. Dewey/Harry S. Truman (Democratic)
Harold Stassen/Styles Bridges? (Republican)

Alright. After the End don't exactly supply me with nominations... And, due to Stassen's reputation here, I made him the Rep. nomination here again. Is that OK?

1948

Thomas E. Dewey/Harry S. Truman (Democratic)
Henry A. Wallace/Norman Thomas? (Socialist)
Harold Stassen/Styles Bridges? (Republican)

The Turtledove Wiki does indicate that Stassen was the Republican candidate for the 1944 election.

Yep, that is why I placed him there, and that is why I made him run again, because the Republicans gained a lot of states in the TL-191 1944 election.

Its Norman Thomas and Styles Bridges that I am iffy on, in 1948 (latter also 1944), and Thomas F. Bayard in 1868. Could you advise me on this?

Oh, sorry, I had thought you were talking about the 1944 election. I have no objection to Stassen running in 1948 as well.

Alright. Could you advise me on Thomas, Bridges and Bayard, in my post above yours?

OK, I'm no expert on this topic, mind you, but I have no objections to any of them either. I see why you picked Wallace and Thomas (both ran for president in 1948 in OTL), though I'm not sure how you decided who would be the presidential candidate and who the VP. I'm not saying it should be one way or the other; I'm just curious, is all. Bridges seems as good a candidate as any, though again I'm wondering why you picked him, as he didn't run in 1948 in OTL. I see why you went with Bayard (Filling the Gaps).

After the End has Wallace run for President, so he became the Prez nomination. Since the Socialists here are more powerful, I chose Norman Thomas as Wallace's VP. Styles Bridges was a random choice, really. He ran in 1940, so I thought, "Eh, why not?" and made him Stassen's VP.

How about Earl Warren instead of Bridges? It'd be kind of funny, since in Worldwar, Stassen was Warren's VP in the 1964 election. Warren also was a Republican presidential nominee in OTL 1948. IIRC, Warren was a relatively liberal Republican in OTL, so he might fit better as a Republican in TL-191 than as a Democrat. (Republicans are moderates at this time in TL-191, correct?)

I like that idea. Stassen/Warren '44 and '48... Alright.

OK. The 1868 (Republican) and 1944 (Socialist) elections are pretty much finished, since the leaders are now obvious. Election results up tomorrow. Feel free to vote if you haven't.

For 1872 and 1948, here are the choices.

1872

Thomas F. Bayard/William S. Groesbeck (Democratic)
Schuyler Colfax/Charles F. Adams (Republican)

1948
Thomas E. Dewey/Harry S. Truman (Democratic)
Henry A. Wallace/Darlington Hoopes (Socialist)
Harold Stassen/Styles Bridges (Republican)
