WI Santa Anna escaped at the Battle of San Jacinto?

For purposes of discussion, let's say that Santa Anna successfully evades Texan forces in the aftermath of the battle, which otherwise plays out as it did IOTL. What happens from there onwards? Would the revolution be dragged out a few more months on account of Santa Anna returning to command Mexican forces?

Santa Anna got a lot more second chances than anybody deserves, but I can't believe they'd give him another army immediately after he lost the last one with such spectacular incompetence.

Bad news for the Texans. There are still a lot of Mexican troops in the field, and some good generals. If SA is out of contact for a while, one of these generals just might take the initiative and wipe out Houston's small force...
