Good Map Editing Software
I've found that Fireworks MS is a great program for making and altering maps. It's similar to Photoshop, but I like it better. Unfortunatly I don't have access to it at home, so I just use it at school.

Has anyone else used it?

I use a very old version of Paint Shop Pro for my maps... The schools have Photoshop, but I don't know much about using it.

Did you get your copy of Photoshop at a store, or did you pirate it?

And has anyone ever tried The GIMP, another image compisition program?

Well, a guy online on another board linked it for awhile... I'm almost certain it was taken down by now, though.
