IMO a Assassination attempt in 1910 is just too late to change anything major.
My Idea would be:
Perhaps there could be a Pod where there was a Assassination attempt at Franz Joseph around 1890 or 1900, perhaps someone tried to stab him but failed, or he was hit by a bullet in the arm.

So in this Assassination attempt Franz Joseph was seriously wounded, but survived. This galvanizes Austria-Hungary, and leads to the Hungarian Aristocrats to concede.
Franz Ferdinand's Reformation Plans in the Investion of the Austro-Hungarian Army gets carried out, leading to a better equipped Austria-Hungary and more money being spent on the Military.
Let's say the Military Vehicles get also build, the Romfell, Daimler Armored Car and perhaps of the Burstyn Tank gets build.
I think such an Austria-Hungary would be much stronger than the OTL.

There was a small thread on this point of departure that you can read here where it was successful and Maximilian comes to the throne where a few ideas were thrown around but nothing ever really came from it. In either event I could see them using the incident as an excuse to pressure the Hungarian magnates and attempt to institute reforms to help curb their power.

wel ok, that could also work.
But, how would such a Pod change the history ?? Could Austria defeat Prussia here ?? How would this affect WWI, there are many open questions then.

Have Conrad got shot and killed, THAT would be of a great deal of help. Problem is if you give him more troops, better gear, whatever he is just going to misuse said resources. As bad as the Battle of Galicia and Serbia were in 1914 the Carpathian fighting over the winter was even worse. Conrad in effect just threw away the pre-war army in some very foolish counter attacks. The losses among NCO's and Officers was horrific and was a blow the army just never recovered from.

Well i would really like a POD which would allow both, a strong Germany and a strong Austria-Hungary.

Ok, so lets say after Austria was defeated in the Prussian War, Austria tried to strenghten his military and gets more militaristic, probably Franz Joseph thought a bit different in this timeline. In 1882 there is an Assassination attempt at Franz Joseph, who was seriously wounded, but survived. The Hungarian Aristocrates get weakend. There were several reformations in Austria, and it also had a better economy without the Hungarian aristocrates. Seeing that many countries had great naval forces, Austria tried to upgrade his navy aswell. in OTL Austria had the sixth biggest navy, here it has the fourth biggest. The Airforce is comparable to the German one but smaller.

Basiclly its just to bring out the best of Austria-Hungary if everything runs good for them, the OTL A-H surely had lot of vasted potential and was rather unlucky. So this Austria Hungary would not be as strong as the German Empire, but should be as strong as possible, that would be my goal.

Like i said, here everything runs benefical for them, no Hungarian aristocrates, more money being spent on military, better organized army etc.

Clemenceau was 78 when he was shot; he lived another ten years with a bullet lodged between his ribs. You can be lucky.
