Like the movie Ants where they fight the termites. The termites are five times bigger than the ants, but the ants have numbers. Here the Neanderthals could probably whoop any Sapiens, but the Sapiens brings all his friends to the fight. Or in a war, the Sapiens village brings all the nearby villages to help out with the one Neanderthal one.

Ritual scarification, fight to the death to become tribe leader, taking "trophies" from defeated enemies and maybe using them as a food source. All good ways to make them nice and "Orcish"
I think I could go with the Sacrifice (the Central American ones might take that to an extreme. . . I'll blame something in the water), and the trophies work. The fight to the death, maybe. I suppose it could be like a lion pride set up, maybe?

@Todyo: so if youre including tolkienesque archetypes, might i ask what general roles each of them fills? i get that the vitiums are like orcs and that floresiensis are, of course, hobbits, but what else? im personally really interested in this now

Well not super Tolkien, but some vague nudging towards the fantasy race stereotypes as a stating place. Neanderthals will slowly get pushed to the rugged mountains, so they get to be a little Dwarven. Erectus though aren't fitting any fantasy role, just being ape-man slaves.

Denisovans are a bit of an open point, and might get themselves wiped out when the Vitiums get themselves some better tactics.

Well Neanderthals traditionally stayed to the forests whilst Sapiens were on the plains. Hence different weapons, Sapiens went for range where Neanderthals went for sturdiness, the better to withstand the force of the stab.

I could well see a Neanderthal raiding party being cut down with arrows or ridden down with horses on the plains, and likewise a Sapien one being decimated in the forests. That'll probably affect culture too, with Neanderhals having the traditional "barbarian" personal strength and bravado style going up against Sapien skill and cooperation.

Scarification and tattoos were big with Huns IOTL, made them look fierce. I also remember something from ASOIAF, where one particular clan of raiders goes through a ceremony where they burn something off to show utterly fearless they are when they reach manhood. The leader put out his eye with a hot knife. Insane but scary as hell.
Heh, I know nothing about them but I already hate the Vitiums :P
If I was alive ITTL at this particular time, I would advocate massacring their tribes every chance I got!

So, scarred up elves eh?

Remember though, they are no more villanous than anyone else, just being nocturnal has been a key factor in knocking them out of the loop. Just having a different schedule scares the other sentients, so the competition between them and everyone else slowly got worse.

Also, I think I might have figured out how I am going to do this tl.

Well my plan is to have an interdimensional traveller from effectively OTL (though the future by a fair bit) end up here by mistake. Then have him travel around learning about the cultures.

interesting; i had thought of doing something like that for an ASB ATL in which the KT extinction never occurs and humans from another TL eventually happen upon that ATL at about OTL present-day and observe dinosaurs after an additional 65 million years of evolution, perhaps including one or two similar but unrelated species of dinosauroids descended from troodonts (in the americas) and/or unenlagiines (in afro-eurasia) at about stone-age level technology

For some reason I feel a little angry when I see alternate histories that I don't understand.

I think that BAMs are good for regions (Like Africa, Europe, China, etc.) but not the whole world. You just can't see the whole thing with a BAM.

Not a serious issue, just a recommendation for next time.
