In OTL, this affair led to the partial discrediting of Louis X's heir Joan of Navarre, and thus the implementation of Salic law with regards to the French succession and the Hundred Years War.

Supposing the scandal backfires in Isabella's face, figuratively, what is in store for France?

Firstly Joan is underage and would require a regent - this brings the possibility of of Philippe or Charles usurping the throne and triggering a war of succession where Edward II has a claim through his wife

Secondly the marriages of Joan and her uncles would be affected - would they still marry their OTL spouses? Especially as Joan's husband would be King.

Thirdly though a successful Queen Joan makes Edward III's claim more secure legally it is now behind those of Philippe's and Charles's female heirs.


A successful Queen Joan also impacts Iberia since Navarre is now securely linked with France and will affect precedent of any marriage to heirs of the Duchies.
