differant ending to Mexican-American War

i'm sure this has been done a bunch but i don't feel like looking for old threads. so i'm wondering how North American history expessially the US & Mexico would change if Mexico fought good enogh that it forced the US to agree to either a status quo or something smaller like just agreeing to the rio grande as texas border so mexico doesn't lose half their country?

You may want to check out the TL on my signature. That is what I think would be the best case for Mexico. A border at the Bravo, minus the Nueces strip and at the 38th parallel.
