I use to be the fictional flags editor and I thought it might have been sent for inclusion at one point. Only flags from professionaly published sources are included but members often link to flags they find interesting.

Into this maelstrom rose the Korsgaardistas, and their charismatic leader, Angel Castellanos. Castellanos was hailed by his admirers as the second coming of Jorge Quintana. When the federal government deadlocked over the budget, the Korsgaardistas marched on Mexico City. Mexican President Rivera was 'convinced' to make Castellanos his vice-president, and to enact a Korsgaardista agenda. Protectionism, corporate support and guidance from the president, as well as an odd dual celebration of the Mesoamerican past and 'traditional' Catholicism were the first priorities. Within a year, Rivera resigned citing 'health' reasons, and Castellanos was raised to the presidency. Many Mexicans welcomed the Korsgaardistas and Castellanos as their policies seemed to offer them renewed prosperity and respect on the international stage. By 1885, the Korsgaardistas had gained control over the military, judiciary, and a sizeable portion of the legislature. Other parties were dissolved, as was the constitution, and the Mexican Empire was proclaimed by President Angel Castellanos.

The new flag of the Mexican Empire

Great flag!

Although it does look a bit strange from an OTL perspective.......

Mind explaining the change of flag and the symbolism?

Thanks! The flag is a variant of the very first insurgency flag of Mexico, which was kept ITTL. Korsgaardians tend to favor red-white-black as a color scheme, and more arresting graphics for their symbolism - really, I blame the Korsgaardian regime in Prussia-Poland for starting the trend. Anyway, the old blue checker design really was a hold-over from the old spanish days, and the Korsgaardians instead proferred a stronger and more 'indigenous' representing color like black. They thought the blood red border was just fine, however.

Oh, those wacky Korsgaardians!

Oh, well I guess it's possible, though I can't imagine the only site I think I posted it to would have had members interested in Vexicology.

Wow, thanks for these. I do think the multicolored star is a little busy, though. And the "weave" effect is one of the best things about the star, IMO.

Totally true, especially when this constructed culture has 10 major QSS ethnic groups (and more like 16 or 17 when you factor in likely QAA groups). Everyone seems to be represented in IB.Crimea. I think I've settled on this one, though: I liked the red-green-blue arrangement of the stripes not just because it looked "neutral" but for the aesthetics. I had colored the circle to match the center stripe, assuming this was the best option, but I like the look of blue in both circle and bottom stripe. An emphasis on blue works for an almost-island nation, I think.

Hey, I submitted a fictional flag last year that was not picked up! I'm not saying it's your fault, just complaining.

The flag of Sinterklaas.
He comes to Holland every year, so I thought de Sint could use a personal flag.

(Yes, I'm Dutch and No, Sinterklaas isn't rascist )

Hi Mathuen,

My flag proposal for your American Empire in Africa flag.

I was thinking of a combination of the American eagle on the Pan-African flag, but my attempts didn't work out so...

If anyone could make such a flag I would be very grateful. It wouldn't have to be what I just described that was just the basic idea that ran in my head when I was coming up with it.
