AHC: Baha'i Roman Empire

There was a Pagan Rome,

there was a Christian Rome,

there was a Muslim Rome,

and now there shall be a... ...Baha'i Rome?

What PoD (if any) could have made the Baha'i religion spread like wildfire and (after forming some kind of revolutionary polity) conquer the near east and Constantinople?

Now I know that the Arabs sacked Rome in 846 and that the Fatimids had Sicily for a more than respectable amount of time, but when was Rome ever ruled by Muslims?

The Baha'i religion was founded during the 19th century in Iran. Way too late.

Seen as how the Bahai religion dates from the 19TH CENTURY, long after Rome in all its incarnations had ceased to exist, I think you're going to need something along the lines of a temporal displacement

Not necessarily. Like the Holy Roman Empire, it can just emerge and claim to be the successor to the original Roman Empire, so why not a New Roman Empire? (Hey, they did it in Doctor Who... )

By "Rome" I was thinking that he meant the Byzantine Empire, which is sometimes referred to as the "Second Rome".

The "Muslim Rome", I think, would be a clumsy reference to the Ottoman Empire's territories in the Balkans and Anatolia. Mehmed II would refer to himself as "Kayser-i-Rum after the capture of Constantinople.

I thought he was referring to Constantinople, as it was known as the Second Rome.

Ottomans lose Persian Wars. Ottomans become fully Shi'a. Shaykhism analogue. Babism analogue. Baha'i analogue. Ottoman Civil War. Alt-Bahai faction takes control of Istanbul. Alt-Bahais keep Istanbul in the peace treaty.

One of the reasons the Ottomans went after the Mamelukes because of the Shiites.

And then, how does Persia beat the Khan of Khans, Emperor of Rome, Steward of Mecca and Medina, the Caliph, and Kurdstomp* the Ottomans in Submission?

*Not being Racist.. Kurd = Persian, in a good way.
