AHC: "Axis" Mexico by 1950

I'm thinking in a TL where the initial PoD is Zangara successfully killing FDR -- the US, for it's part can certainly go into a big tailspin during the 1930's, such that it is in no position to aid the Allies* when the war comes, etc.

What I want to know is if there is a way, during this time, for Nazi Germany (and/)or Imperial Japan to form an alliance that can serve as the ground from which to launch an invasion of the United States later in the Century -- certainly no need to get it done by 1947, if that's what you're thinking

Well, an "Axis" mexico I don't think could happen. A National Socialist Mexico however might be possible.

^^Could a National Socialist Mexico start getting military supplies and training from Nazi Germany around, or shortly after, this time? And if so, could they eventually -- meaning, by 2000 -- invade the US with Germany as an ally?

I doubt it. Even with an FDR assasination in 33(and I'm not entirely sure an "economic tailspin" is inevitable, in fact I tend to be of the opinion that it would have been better in the long run), the US isn't going to let the Germans send weapons and supplies to Mexico, as it would be seen as violating the Monroe Doctrine.

I could see Mexico possibly becoming friendly with Nazi-Germany like Argentina, of course the Nazi-party "race scientists" would have to convince Hitler and the party leadership that the Mexicans were the Aryans of the Americas just like the Japanese were considered the Aryans of Asia. They would have to create some link between the Ancient Aztecs and the Aryans.

So no, I don't Nazi-Germany could boost up Mexico on its own. Now whether or not Mexico could bulk itself up by the year 2000 with a National Socialist doctrine is the stuff others should look into more then myself.

National Synarchism is possible. Fascism was never very popular in North America. A military dictatorship with Fascist leanings I see as possible.

I don't think that even the inventive "race scientists" could create an explanation why Mexicans were more Aryan than the Majority of American citizens of German Ancestry.
