That's kinda a bogus explanation for a population map, and highly debatable.

yeah, and knowing what i know about the Australian constitution, the states dont really have that much autonomy, certainly no where near that of the US.

Gwaggaeto the Expander lives longer, and his successors unite Korea and Manchuria under Goguryeo's banner.

What about the British Raj with OTL borders, Red Russia, and independent (Outer) Mongolia with modern borders?
I think the PoD is in the (second half of the) 19th century.

Russian translations courtesy of looking up an article on Wikipedia then clicking the link to the Russian version of it...

Eurasia 1990.

PoD is Grigor the ASB giving Stalin a mind control device with limited effectiveness. Grigor failed to mention the mind control will cease to function upon arrival of the new millenium.

Cities shown had a population of over one million at the last census.

Whether or not the Soviets should integrate its satellites fully into the USSR is the subject of heated debate in Moscow. So is whether the Soviets should begin a much more aggressive campaign of "influencing" other states, especially the US-lead NATO and SEATO.

Your Croatian-Serbian border is anachronistic, as it depicts the internal border of Republika Srpska and the Federation, which would not exist without the OTL Bosnian War.

Yes, but the border is an arbitration, and so would not be the same ITTL. It's much the same problem as with the Kazakh border.

My map was noticed, eh? First time for everything.

Chalk both errors up to a sleep-deprived brain improperly utilising Wikipedia.

I was more wondering why the Serbian Srpska was in Croatia.

Not like that evil, violent, and nefarious dictatorship, Brazil.

It would probably be a lot less trouble to say "Yeah what I'm lazy".

Brazil's states, like India's and Germany's do not have the same amount of powers and in many cases are arbitrary, having been created by the federal governments out of existing states.

Incidentally Switzerland is the only place that would fit the same criteria to have its Cantons shown, however since it's so small on the Basemap that you can only even see 4 of the 26 Cantons they're not included.

Except that's not the case.
