PC For A TL Idea : British Baltic Project

Hi, I’ve been member for a while but haven’t posted much due to having a broken PC, so I have had to use my Iphone. I thought of a timeline idea and I was wondering if it was plausible.

Suppose that the British decided to do the Baltic Project went ahead instead of Gallipoli. The idea was that the British land on the German Baltic only 100 km from Berlin and to knock Germany out of the War where they would meet out with the Russians. The plan required a large specialized navy of around 600 ships. Wikipedia article has all the key details http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_Project

So I was wondering is it a plausible idea for it to be successful and would you read a TL about it?

This has been discussed before and the idea seems, to use a technical term, barking mad. Apart from the fact that the Germans could use the Kiel canal to operate on interior lines against any such action it requires the British fleet forcing the Danish controlled straits, then operating in support of a large amphibious landing several hundred miles away from any friendly base. This would be again not a 2nd level power in a region of relatively poor communications but in the heartland of the world's greatest military power, possessing world class railway and communications networks. Also given the demands of the western front where would the necessary forces be assembled for the attack, far more than would be needed at Gallipoli.

All in all it had no real chance of success and plenty of changes of being a political, naval and military disaster.
