París no val una missa
Note: in english it is Paris is not worth the mass..
Introduction: In the present, a protestant state called Aquitaine exists and it's boundaries are the Loire river,Pyrenees and the Ebro river, the official language is Northern Occitan or high occitan particularly based on the dialect of Limoges but Southern Occitan and Gascon variant also exists in this state and Basque. The colonization of the new world was delayed because Spain had many land disputes and the war on counter reformation made them very busy, while France is a part of a state with French speakers and Flemish speakers, both Britain and Spain cannot carve a big empire because of their land disputes. Prussia does not unite Germany nor Italy is united only the northern part of it is united.

Aquitaine? I thought it was a surviving kingdom of Navarra, but maybe it turned into republic renamed Aquitaine?

Aquitaine secedes from France completely with a bourbon ruler of Navarre-Aragon which has protestant being the king of Aquitaine and becomes a lutheran occitan state ruled by the bourbons. while Provence is catholic, Occitania is similar to OTL Yugoslavia in my TL same people divided by religion.

Well that doesn't have to affect the title of the ruler of a territory; for instance the duchy of Saxony has moved through the Holy Roman Empire, it started in the area of modern day State of Lower Saxony and ended in the modern day state of Saxony.

In another thread I have admitted that spending so many posts about this point, might be a bit nitpicky
.Anyway I assume that ITL France is harder and longer hit by wars of religion like the HRE IOTL (which might face similar problems TTL)? Last edited by Janprimus; February 4th, 2011 at 01:07 PM.. |

"París no és digne de la massa".
I looks like Catalan, but it makes no sense. "Mass" in Catalan is "missa", in the sense of religious ceremony. The right sentence would be "París no val una missa". ![]() |
