Some ideas for alternative Chinese flags

Hello everybody.
I need some ideas or concepts for making some Chinese flags in a ATL I'm working on
The background is the following: Lets suppose during the 1920s some warlords established the following republics in the south of China:
1- State of Yunnan (云南国, Yúnnánguó) in the province of the same name
2- South Chinese Republic (南中国民國, Nán Zhōngguó Mínguó) in the provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan. Basically its corresponds to the zone of the Pearl River
3- United Provinces of China or United China (中华合众国, Zhōnghuá Hézhòngguó) in the provinces of Sichuan, Guizhou and city of Chongqing.

The conditions are,
a) No dragons (these are republics breaking away from the previous Imperial regime).
b) Not similar to the Five Races Under One Union or the Flag of the ROC.

How would a the flag of a Chinese South Communist or Socialist state would look on the Pearl River Basin (open also to ideas for names of the said country)

Also, is there any symbolism in Chinese culture in the use or meaning of colors?

Chinese colour customs.

I had a go at Yunnan: the symbol of Yunnan is camellia yunnanensis, which is a white camellia. Yunnan's name means "south of the clouds", I tried to represent this with blue skies above green forests, as Yunnan is also known for its alpine flora. Additionally, the colours green and blue are "a symbol of spring when everything is filled with vigour and vitality. Therefore, someone that is hoping for longevity and harmony will decorate with blue-green colours".

EDIT: I had at first tried to represent the '40 nationalities of Yunnan' through having 40 stripes, but it was too busy.
