Challenge: Greeks as a sizable minority in the US today

So I've got a challenge for you guys: I've been reading about Micheal Dukakis and Spiro Agnew, two powerful Greek-Americans who could have been even more powerful if circumstances allowed them.

So, how could we make Greeks the largest and most powerful minority in the US, whether through displacing the English/Irish, or simply displacing OTL's most powerful minority?

I'd say its near impossible for two reasons, A) While the Irish were not wanted at first they seemed a better alternative to the non-english speaking immigrants from the east, and that mindset was quite powerful. B) Theres simply not enough greeks that could immigrate. The Irish came in droves, more than half the population of Ireland left and went to either America or other countries, The greeks don't really have any reason to flee in mass numbers
