Well, I'd be willing to drop the "primarily ground transport" rule for your support on the "Show the how in addition to the what" rule.

Gee willikers! I've been scooped! Though my take on "no domesticated horses" should end up being pretty different, so maybe it's not that big of a deal.

How about the rest of you fine fellows? What challenge(s) do you want for the next contest round?

Due to a series of unforseen circumstances, I probably won't get a map in this time around, and if I do, it'll be right on the deadline. My sincerest apologies.

My support still goes to Let Us Not Be Decieved.

The deadline approaches and it looks to me like "Let Us Not Be Deceived" is the most popular challenge suggestion at the moment! If you've got another preference please feel free to state it, but it looks like "Let Us Not Be Deceived" is our challenge for MotF 62!

I'm fine with Let Us Not Be Deceived and are OK with "The People's Choice" being used in November, so it is taking place when the USA election happens.

I have a suggestion:

English, mother-------, do you speak it?: Make a map related to a language that is either non-prominent or extinct in our timeline but is in this scenario. The map can be related to the ares that it is spoken such as a language density map or it can be a map of a nation where it is the official or at least the language of the majority. The language does not have to be a global language but needs to at least be an important one. The map does not need to be in this language but it can be.

This is almost identical to an older suggested topic:

Quote:
Those Strange Tongues

Make a map showing the linguistic geography of a region that is dominated by a language or language family which did not exist in OTL, or which did not dominate that region in OTL.
It's quite good and we haven't run it yet, so if people like it, I'll run it.

Sorry for the delay in terms of new threads - I'll have them posted in an hour or two! And, as I said, the new challenge shall be "Let Us Not Be Decieved".

Its my challenge, so if people support it, I'll endorse it.

I think that Those Strange Tongues is a great suggestion for a future round.

I have an idea for this one, but I can't make a good map of it.

I like Those Strange Tongues. Specifically if it's focused on languages that were not dominant IOTL (for example, Euskadi-wank).

Well I've already got an idea for this round, so if you PM me your idea I'll see if I can think of a way for you to make a map out of it and subsequently NOT steal your idea.

Hmm, well that sort of map would be allowed of course, but I'm not sure I want to exclude people showing OTL-dominant languages being dominant elsewhere.

Well since a stole my last idea, how about this one.

Potemkin Nations: Design a nation (or world) that is partially or completely the product of indoctrination and propaganda. The government or another organization must have changed history to a point where what they say is extremely different from reality. You may use an already established dystopian timeline for inspiration but it must have some of your own creative elements in it.

For example the world from Nineteen-Eighty-Four and the nation from Fahrenheit 451.

For scale it must it must go beyond the lies of the Soviet Union in scope, by a lot.

I think we already did that one too.

We have a list of most of the topics that have been suggested/used on the AH.com wiki here, with a list of all the past contest rounds and their challenges here. You shouldn't need check them every time you come up with an idea, but you might want to skim over them once just to see what's already been suggested.

Oh don't be silly - just because you had the same idea as someone previously doesn't mean it's a bad idea, and if you suggest an idea that's identical to or very similar to a previously run idea then I'll still run it. It's just that we don't like running very similar challenges close to each other, and we've yet to actually reuse a challenge (though rerunning "ALL ABOARD!" was quite popular a week or two ago).
