Hmmm, well something about the area to the south of that map just rinds me of the St Lawrence river....and now that I think about it that wpuld mean it reminds me of south rather than north-eastern Canada DX

Use lots of layers, remember the various settings on the select tool, learn what all the filters can do.

Time for another Kaiserreich map!
Carlist Spain reclaimed her former glory in the Americas and Europe, and gained some Nationalist French colonies in Africa. Bulgaria weathered the crisis of the Third Balkan War and came out on top, dividing Romania w/Hungary and Greece with the Italian Federation. They took Constantinople and some other tasty bits when the Ottomans started to fall apart compliments of the Arab uprising and war w/ Persia. The Union of Britain was totally destroyed by Germany after an uncertain campaign, with German - born monarchs in England, Wales, Scotland (and Ireland, for good measure ).The Ottomans collapsed after a lacklustre campaign against Persia and an Arab uprising, which led the Italians to take over the Aegean; Austria got Cyprus, Palestine, and Lebanon (hello, new Kingdom of Jerusalem!). This made up for poor Kaiser Otto having to concede the loss of Hungary (still technically ruled by him in name, anyway), Bosnia and Croatia; Galicia was "requested" by Poland, and Bohemia went independent minus the Sudetenland. Japan was totally smashed by Germany in the War of the Phillipines: they lost Korea which became a German puppet, Fengtien Republic which went to Qing China, and Okinawa with some other islands went to the Reich. Since most of their fleet was sunk, they had no choice but to accept the bitter defeat. In a weird turn of events, they were allowed to keep Alaska, which they had stolen from the Western Pacific States. There's other cool stuff: check out uber huge Mongolia, for example. |

Of course not, the map I'm making is of the National Rail system that VT45 hinted at in his map.

Inspired by Nugax's wonderful Cavorite maps, I present the Martian Colonisation of Earth:
"The third planet of the solar system is perhaps the most interesting apart from Mars herself. It is a planet of extremes, with huge frozen highlands as well as boiling tropical lowlands. When the first Helvation explorers arrived they found the thick lowland atmoshpered difficult to move around in, and the high gravity was considered a major hinderence. They deamed the planet too hot. Soon though the Tahrrs would begin settling the planet and the Helvations sprang into action taking the best polar regions for themselves. It was not until twenty years in juring the uprising Reblia and her allied settlements that the first Smallit ruins were found. The Helvations cursed their luck at having relatively few ruins to work with and established colonies in less than ideal regions near the ruins. The Smallits appear to have been quite poor space farers, for unknown reasons (especially when one considers that their planet has an even poor ecosystem than the Martian one which drove us to explore), however their other technologies are highly advanced and under serious research. After close to three centuries of settlement Earth now has nearly 140 million inhabitants, mostly living in small communities spread throughout the scrublands of the planet, or along its exotic coasts. The attached map shows merely those cities with more than 15 000 inhabitants. . . . It should be noted that the water levels of Earth are subject to fierce debate as certain Smallit ruins show signs of being coastal despite being far from the sea. One of the most controversial things to note is that all evidence seems to indicate that the planet lost it seas about the same time Mars and the other worlds gained theirs." ![]() ![]() (Click the image to enlarge) |

LSCatilina, great map. I've been reading the timeline with it, which is also fantastic, and I'm really interested in where you are going with it. I loved middle ages tls because you can create such a different would out of the same elements that made our own. Anyway, who is the second battle of Soissions fought between, the Aquitanians and the Franks, I suppose?
(I posted this here instead of the thread because at least part of it pertains directly to the map.) Scipio |

The few differences are the attribution of western Provence to Odo, disputed by Charles, and the Kingdom of Agila. This map was meant to show the situation in Gaul for the next update, but i wanted to make a old-looking map, because i'm not really good at and have some tips to improve.

Aegypt: The Roman Civil War, begun with just Octavian and Antony, expanded to include the territories of both the Roman and Persian Empires. In the end, Rome survived, it's overall territory now just Italia, Gaullia, and Iberia. Aegypt went it's own separate way. Now, 1200 years after the end of the war, Aegypt is the most powerful nation of the Roman sucessor states, but it is suspended on a house of cards. The royal line after Cleopatra XI is uncertain, and her death is but a few years away...

Very original idea Beedok. The inverted map reminds me of Earth as a boring alien colony "NowWhat" in the last Hitchhiker's Guide book.

Thanks. For some reason "Nowwhat" is slipping my mind, would it be the last of the Douglas ones or the Colfer one?

The Prussian Commonwealth in 1900! In it's second colonial stage...
A while back I posted The Prussian Commonwealth in it's first colonial stage. As of 1900 The British Commonwealth and The Prussian Commonwealth are practically equal in Power. Both in Navy, Army, Economic, and Wealth. ![]() All post colonial flags and the main commonwealth flag in the Flag thread later. |
