I just had a major computer failure and a timeline I was working on, so all I'm left with is my memories and this map. IIRC, it's set in the mid 1700s, just after the successful Jacobite revolution and Stuart Restoration.
The POD is that Peter the Great is killed as a child, and his half sister Sophia takes the throne. As a result of this, the Great Northern War goes rather differently, and Sweden wins. Sometime later, Frederick pisses off Poland-Lithuania by proclaiming himself King of Prussia. Sweden isn't too happy about this, so it joins Poland-Lithuania in a war against Frederick, who has gathered several North German states to his side. Frederick is killed, Prussia returned to Poland-Lithuania as a Duchy, Brandenburg broken in two, and large amounts of northern Germany annexed by Sweden. Butterflies ensue, (I cant remember what they were at the moment) and Philip wins, eventually becoming the monarch of both Franc and Spain, though Aragon breaks away under Charles and fights off Philip, declaring it's independence once more. Aragon quickly becomes involved in the East Indies business, setting up several trade posts in India and conquering several Native Indonesian Kingdoms, as well as ousting the Portuguese from Ceylon. With French help, the Jacobite uprising of '45 occurs earlier and is more successful, returning Charles Stuart to the throne of England and Scotland, and driving George into exile in the Americas, where he set up that nation on the East Coast. The Bourbon Empire is now closely allied to Britain, and about to side with them in a major European conflict growing out of the Fourth Northern War, when Denmark and Russia, along with much of Germany have another shot at dislodging Sweden from their Baltic hegemony. I've slightly neglected South America and Africa here, so they're not totally up to date with the rest of the map.

Yes, that's Venice. Though I'm not sure if it should still be there at this point. I think it was invaded by the Austrians during the war of the Spanish Succession.

So did the Dutch never lose New Amsterdam, or did they get it back somehow?

So here is my first attempt at a "realistic" looking map, based on a map from an old timeline I never finished. Most of the graphical elements are copypasta'd from other people's maps, but I was really just trying to see what I could do. I think it turned out pretty well myself.

If you're referring just to something on the map, I'm afraid you'll have to rephrase the question, as I don't understand. |

I think NY actually had a claim extending a little bit farther south than the map shows.

Oh, well I don't know then. I based this map, from what I remember, on a handful of maps from old textbooks and things I found online. I can't remember if there was any reason for it.

I think Mass and Conn are more insane claiming landlocked territories they don't even border.
